Powerboat Course - National Powerboat Handling Certificate
This course aims to provide participants with the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge to safely operate a small powerboat. It is a requirement for professionals and volunteers in water training, coaching, judging and race management.
- Course content includes: safety principals, rules and regulations, chart, buoyage, care and maintenance, distress and emergencies, and a focus on Darwin waters and weather.
Schedule:
- Theory modules: Tuesday 6 and Thursday 8, Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 March - 5.30pm to 7.30pm
- Practical modules: Sunday 11 and 18 March - 8am to 1pm

23-Mar-2012SSSC - Offshore Safety Course
SSSC - Safety Survival at Sea Course
This Yachting Australia course is mandatory for the YA/ISAF Category 1 and some Category 2 racing events, such as Sydney to Hobart or Round the Islands Race. It is also recommended for the sailors who sail offshore passages.
The course will be run by Gerry Fitzgerald of Offshore Maritime Training with Winter School Of Sailing at the Darwin Sailing Club
The course includes safety at sea and emergencies, search and rescue and flares and wet drills with liferaft.

This Annual Sign-On Day and Expo Day showcases the Club's Associations and incorporates "Try Sail" Day which gives prospective new members the chance to experience on the water activity with a view to taking up sailing.
Family activities such as sailing "face painting", jumping castle, sausage sizzle & barbecue. Wine and beer tasting for the adults and live music in the evening.
12-May-2012Commodore’s Opening Day & Sail Past
The official opening of the Sailing Season hosted by the Club's Commodore. Guests are invited to attend the Club for light refreshments prior to the official sail past where the Commodore gives a salute to the sailing fleet. The sail past is themed each year giving the sailing fleet an opportunity to dress up their boats.
Subject to availability the Australia Navy provide a Patrol Boat for the Commodore to give his salute. Following the sail past guests are then invited back to the Club for prizes, entertainment & refreshments.
