DSC AFL FOOTY TIPPING COMPETITION
GENERAL RULES
- You must be registered as a Tipster before the first round. (In special circumstances late registrations may be accepted at the discretion of the Tipping Committee)
- The cost is $50 annually non-negotiable. Late registrations are still $50. Registration fees are payable in full (no time payments thanks) to Trish Callier or Peter Bracken at the DSC either Thursday or Friday nights. The Bar Manager will point them out.
- Your $50 is due before the start of the games for Round 5 (five). If you haven’t paid by then you will be fined 1 point for each Round you are in arrears.
- Tips must be in BEFORE the bounce of the ball in the first game of the round.(Beware daylight saving time at the beginning of the season and the odd Thursday night games. Both cost tipsters points every year and no we don’t care if you forgot)
- Tips lodged electronically must be emailed to dscfootytips@gmail.com (with a cc to admin@dwnsail.com.au ). Alternatively they must be lodged at the Club Thursday or Friday night. You must get these tips time noted and initialled by the accepting staff member to make them valid.
- If you lodge your tips after the start of the first game but before the 2nd game starts then you will get the loser of the first game as your tip and your lodged tips for the rest of the round.
- If you lodge your tips after the start of the 2nd game then you will get equal to the lowest score for the round from someone who did lodge their tips. You will only be eligible for a maximum of 5 for that round (eg if the lowest is 6 or 7 you get 5).
- The last 3 Round scores (20, 21 and 22) will be “hidden” and all winners are announced at the End of Season (EOS) function which is held at the DSC on the Friday of the 2nd week of AFL Finals.
- The overall winner will donate $50 of his/her prize to the drinking enjoyment of other tipsters who attend EOS function and weren’t as lucky as them.
- If you’re a minor prize winner (5 x $40) and you’re not there on the night to collect you also drop your winnings into the hat with the aforementioned $50.
- If you didn’t win anything and you’re at the EOS function and still thirsty, then you can approach someone who did win and they will buy you a beverage.
